What is a feis?
A feis is a traditional Irish dancing competition. Derived from the Irish Gaelic word for "festival," a feis provides an opportunity for dancers to showcase their skills. Throughout the year, multiple "feiseanna" (plural) are held, allowing our students to compete with dancers from other schools.
While competition is highly encouraged for personal growth, it is entirely optional. Attending a feis helps dancers establish clear goals and boost their self-esteem. It teaches them to accept both success and defeat with grace, all while building lasting friendships and sharing memorable experiences.
