Cunningham Academy of Irish Dance – Sofia was founded by Rosen Idealov, Jr. with the aim of developing Irish dance and culture both within the country and abroad. The school offers training for both enthusiasts and professionals, with no age restrictions. The academy is part of the "Cunningham Academy of Irish Dance," which spans from Ireland through France, Austria, and Bulgaria, under the guidance of mentor, teacher, and adjudicator Tanya Cunningham. She also teaches in Sofia on a seminar basis, having already conducted over 20 seminars in Bulgaria. All its teachers work according to the established system of An Coimisiún le Rincí Gaelacha (The Irish Dance Commission), providing high-quality instruction in a friendly and relaxing environment

In addition to dance training, the school aims to build a community of dancers, culture lovers, and artists by organizing numerous cultural events, performances, and appearances. The Cunningham Academy of Irish Dance – Sofia is supported by the Embassy of Ireland in Sofia and has already completed multiple collaborative projects. Among them are a series of concerts with the popular band "SONAS," the duo "Celtaura," and céilí festivals and workshops (céilí – Irish social figure dance) alongside "Balfolkaria" – friends and allies of the school. The dancers of the Cunningham Academy of Irish Dance – Sofia have extensive experience competing in international competitions (feis – a competitive Irish dance festival) in cities such as Vienna, Munich, Milan, Prague, Bratislava, Bucharest, Brașov, Hamburg, and others, winning first place across various ages and categories. The global academy network's highest achievements include a third-place world ranking, while the Sofia branch boasts a Continental Europe Regional Champion and an Aisling Award winner at the World Championships in Belfast. Some of the teachers and students are professional artists participating in international productions, festivals, and smaller events.

The mission of the Cunningham Academy of Irish Dance – Sofia is to give everyone the opportunity to dance—from the hobbyist coming to lift their spirits and make new friends to the beat of exciting music, to the ambitious professional aspiring to master the dance to the perfection of a performer and artist. The academy ensures high-quality teaching while maintaining a friendly and relaxing environment within a community of people who love to dance and share a common culture.
